Driving in Tehran

To legally drive a car in Tehran, you need an IDP (international driving permit) for Iran. You can book them with the AA, before going to Tehran. In Tehran, as with the rest of Iran, it is the law to drive on the right hand side of the road. Even though you cannot book car hire in Tehran for your trip, there are many attractions around Tehran, so try and see as much as you can!

Mehrabad Airport is only about 5 miles west of Tehran. The airport, whose international IATA code is THR, and flights there take 9 hours from the UK approximately. Getting into Tehran is easy.
