Vienna Guide

The Austrian capital city of Vienna, with it’s population of over 1.5 million people, is one of Europe’s main cities, being the base for many United Nations and EU bodies. It is a historic city that has always had a prominent position in the development of Europe, in part thanks to it’s location adjoining both West and East Europe.

The city is almost like two separate ones, with the old city being the centre for tourism whilst there is a modern part that is far and away the main economic power in the country. Visitors to the city will find much to admire and enjoy in the old city, with the historic buildings, fine shopping areas and many lovely cafes providing a pleasant environment in which to explore.
